Property Brothers nominated for an Emmy
Canadian ContractorVancouver's Drew and Jonathan Scott, real estate agent and contractor respectively, are on the shortlist for the most prestigious American TV award of them all.
Vancouver natives Drew and Jonathan Scott, getting increasingly famous as reality TV hosts of The Property Brothers (and Brother Versus Brother, Buying and Selling, Property Brothers At Home, etc.), have been nominated for a Prime Time Emmy Award, America’s most prestigious TV honour. The winners will be announced Sept. 2.
If they win, they will have bested even the “world’s most famous contractor,” Mike Holmes, in one of the most ego-inflating awards events in (sort of) show business history. Holmes has won two Gemini awards (2004, 2009), Canada’s version of the Emmy Awards, but he has not yet snaffled the big prize south of the border. Nor has he even been nominated. That’s a surprise to us.
Now, B.C.’s contractor/real estate agent siblings have a decent shot at bringing home the statuette. But the competition if pretty fierce…
The 2015 Prime Time Emmy Nominees for Best Structural Reality TV Show are:
Property Brothers
Antiques Roadshow
Mythbusters
Shark Tank
Undercover Boss
Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives
