This has to be the most peeved-off contractor message we have ever received about the fee-mandating and fine-slapping Ontario College of Trades. Victor, Toronto Kitchen Designs, below, calls them “Sly crooks who are robbing our children!” Apologies to everyone outside of Ontario who is sick of reading about the OCOT. I’ve heard from a few of you. Just be happy you don’t have to deal with this in your province. (Well, you do in Quebec.)
LET US CREATE A REAL FIGHTING BODY, A COMMITTEE TO CHALLENGE OCOT IN COURTS, ORGANIZE A STRIKE, A CAMPAIGN OF MASS DISOBEDIENCE, MASS REFUSAL TO PAY THE FEE, etc.
OCOT parasites have the power to take away the right to work from those who refused to pay for OCOT parasites’ sky high salaries.
OCOT bureaucrats rob us and then they force us, the abused, to pay for that abuse!
The Ontario College of Trades has raped everyone just a little bit. First we got disgusted, spent 5 minutes and posted an angry online comment. And then everyone has swallowed the abuse and paid the fee.
The OCOT has the law, courts and enforcement powers behind it. So we got scared of becoming an outlaw, of facing fines and courts, of the possibility to lose a license and the source of income. Each of us gave up!
And that was exactly how the Ontario College of Trades has planned and designed it to happen. Divide and threaten then blatantly abuse, rob and rule!
A bunch of smart bureaucrats – parasites drunk with entitlement and power have won. And tens of thousands of us, hardworking tradespeople have lost.
ANYONE READY FOR THE REAL FIGHT WRITE TO ME. AND TRY TO FIND OTHERS WHO REFUSE TO PAY TO THE BUNCH OF SLY CROOKS FOR ROBBING OUR CHILDREN.

I agree 100% , and you have my support.
It’s about time people started to fight the real criminals with mass disobediance. We as trades and construction professionals are being robbed and treated like cattle. If we don’t put a stop to these abuses of power now, our children will be treated like slaves.
I am fully supportive of an industry wide boycott of the College of Trades and the WSIB. Both programs (while well-meaning) are in need of a complete rethink by trades professionals and legislators alike.
Hey Victor, Why can’t a private bill be introduced trough Ontario legislation right after when the government started in the fall, from the long vacation on our tax dollars, special people…… The bill should containing all the signatures of those refuse to pay the OCOT, also those wish to do so. I did refuse and until this matter its fix properly will not sign with them. I am ready to sign into the private bill.
That could be in a form of a petition, on line. Maybe some legislation lawyer will help on this matter. Describing the constitutional violations of our rights certified trades people, and also none certified.
The private bill issue, to close the OCOT in a ASAP or province wide strike, that may speed the process. Maybe the H MP Garfield Dunlop be interested in introduce the bill. It appears ironic a majority of Liberal government of the 39% voted when 61% refused to vote, its clear real democracy and transparency is gone.
So we may be lucky using private bills. The OCOT was set up with our tax dollars, and may well still running using part or full of our tax dollars, to get this so called membership licensing, reminds Capone style.
In the same manner should another bill do the trick for WSIB, in the rebuild of this agency.
