Well, Rob Koci is reporting on some of the seminars going on right now down in Las Vegas, where hundreds of renovators are taking the time they need to re-evaluate how they do business.

If you had to choose one characteristic of your life in the renovation business, I’m going to guess it’s that you don’t get out much. The long days demand focus on short term issues, customers, employees, subtrades and maybe in the last hour of the day, your family. Trouble is, the thing that falls by the wayside may be the most important thing of all: Time to step back to think about how your business has done, what you need to do to improve it, and where you want to go.
Stepping back is hard.That’s why you need something like the Business Summit being hosted right now in Las Vegas by Remodelers Advantage, a US renovator consultant group. It is where, every three years, 350 renovators in the US and Canada gather together, away from their businesses, away from their employees, away from their families, to share challenges, failures and successes with their peers from across North America.
