That little black box

Canadian Contractor

Every contractor should possess a little black box, crucial to avoid liability in the event of an unthinkable serious injury or fatality on your jobsite. It's called a Policies and Procedures Document. If you don't have one, you could be in serious trouble with the Ministry of Labour.

After a plane crash, investigators try to locate the plane’s black box, as it will form a crucial part of the investigation.

Did you know that we in the renovation and home building industries have our own version of that little black box?

After a construction job site accident, where serious injuries occur to one of your subtrades or employees, an investigation by the Ministry of Labour will immediately seek to find your little company’s little black box.

It’s called a Policies & Procedures document.
