Are you the next Bryan Baeumler?
Canadian Contractor canadaDon't know if Bryan knows it, but this casting company is looking for the next one of him.
Here’s a “casting call” that recently came to my attention. They’re looking for the next Bryan Baeumler, I guess. Is this the opportunity you’ve been waiting for?
Television production company currently casting across Canada for hands-on general contractors and carpenters for a new national television series. Also casting for landscaping contractors/teams experienced in hardscaping, deck building, docks and exterior structures.
We are looking for individuals with big personalities, quick wit and tons of energy. If you think you are the next Bryan Baeumler please send us a current picture and tell us why you think you would be a great fit to host a national TV series.
If you know someone who fits the bill, please send us your nominations at casting@mountainroad.ca or contact Sonja Osberg at 613-237-4447.
If this is for you, here’s the specs on the audition video you need to send:
Audition Video Requirements for Contractors
Length – no longer than 5 minutes
Camera and Quality:
– someone other than you is doing the filming
– if they are using an iPhone they must hold it horizontally, not vertically
– keep a steady hand and keep the video in focus.
– don’t be concerned with editing the video. If it needs editing we will take care of that.
Elements:
Introduction – Feel free to adlib, but something like: My name is… I’ve been a contractor for x number of years…. And I’m going to show you…(briefly describe the job site that we’re going to see.)
Tour of a job site – preferably one that is in progress but if necessary it could be a job that you have already completed. As you walk us through the site you are talking to the camera. You are demonstrating that you have what it takes be the star of a national tv series.
Natural, work related interaction with 1 or 2 of your crew members on the job site. Here you are not talking to the camera, you are talking with your crew about the job. You are showing us your big personality, your sense of humour, and your leadership at the same time.
Not essential, but if possible, work related interaction with a client – same as above.
Submit the video to casting@mountainroad.ca using www.dropbox.com or www.yousendit.com . (They will be too big to send via regular email.) Only those that are chosen for a short list will be contacted.
