Peter de Jonge eventually got out of new home building
Last week we reported that the Ontario New Home Warranty folks, Tarion, were facing major restructuring later this year from the Ontario government.
Peter de Jonge did not have kind words for Tarion…
“What is the goverment going to do to protect small builders? In the past Tarion looked after the big builders. I was a small builder and was treated badly by Tarion – and I had no claims in 10 years. I stopped fighting with them and stopped building new homes.”

They increase builders/buyers costs while giving buyers a false sense of security.
It appears as though Tarion exists for the sake of Tarion!
