Accessibility renovations: tax credit available in Ontario
Canadian ContractorThe same provincial government that brought in the Ontario College of Trades, to "tax" licensed tradespeople, is now handing out money for accessibility renovations.
Government bureaucrats are fanning out across Ontario, promoting the Healthy Homes Renovation Credit. It can be applied for retroactively for any permanent accessibility home modifications made after Oct. 1, 2011. Any family member living in a house or apartment who paid for the renovations can claim the refund for projects.
For more information about the Healthy Homes Renovation Tax Credit, call 1-866-668-8297 or visit the Ontario Ministry of Finance website at www.fin.gov.on.ca.
