B.C. building code changes will add $5,000 to $10,000 to cost of constructing a new home, GVHBA head says
Canadian ContractorB.C.'s residential building code has been updated, with important new rules about HVAC/R systems, insulation, and the performance of windows and doors.

According to this article posted on the website of Vancouver radio station News 1130, the head of the Greater Vancouver Home Builders’ Associatino (GVHBA), Bob de Wit, says that the code changes could add anywhere from $5,000 to $10,000 to the COST (yikes) of a new home build in his region, depending which jurisdiction the contractor is building in, and how the code gets interpreted there.
Wow, that’s a lot of money.

The building inspector apply their own code depending on their interpretation because in the code there is nothing precise it is all opened to the inspector to play with . It is very hard for a builder to fix a cost on something because one inspector want something and another inspector in the same office want something different.Also they change their way to apply the code for each builder
