Or the car sales business? Or the credit card game?
It’s an interesting question, because as much as Canadian consumers never stop hearing about bad contractors, it turns out that complaints to Manitoba’s Consumer Protection Office (CPO) about home renovation contractors ranked only 4th behind the payday loans, auto sales and credit card/finance industries, according to a report by CBC news here.
The data for the 2013/14 year, accessed by CBC, showed that there were 1,193 complaints to the CPO over the past year, and only 80 of them were about home renovation contractors (just under 7 per cent of all complaints).
