Corrugated steel shipping containers as modular house components
Canadian ContractorContractor Glen Donaldson's new home in the west end of Toronto is 8.5-feet wide on a 12.5-feet wide lot. It's built out of three 53-foot long shipping containers.
The idea has been around for at least 15 years, but it seems to be gaining speed.
More and more steel shipping containers are being deployed as modular house components.
The latest example that came to our attention is featured here in the Toronto Star.
The owner of the structure is Glen Donaldson, a former Atlanta, GA contractor relocating to Toronto. His firm is called GAD Design & Construction.
