Doug Ford issues a blanket apology to Ontario
Canadian Contractor“I know I’ve said a lot of hateful things, and I feel real bad about it,” confesses the Premier
We hope you enjoyed this April Fool’s story for 2019!
In a surprise news release today, Ontario Premier Doug Ford said he was sorry for many of the things he has said and done during his first 18 months in office.
“I know I’ve said and done a lot of hateful things, and I feel real bad about it,” Ford said in his release to the media. “I really don’t know where to begin. Sometimes I would lie awake at night and say to myself, “Doug, that just isn’t you, you’re better than that.’ And I would know that I would have to come out one day and say ‘sorry’.”
Without Ford being specific about which incidents he regrets, its leaves organizations, advocacy groups, and individuals wondering if he was apologizing to them or not. The Premier was not available for further comment.
A spokesman for the Premier’s office did say, however, that the people of Ontario should take Ford’s apology at face value. “It is sincere, and anyone feeling they have been offended or ostracized due to the Premier’s previous inflammatory remarks and conduct should now know that the Premier feels remorse, sort of. I think I saw tears in his eyes. He’s really just a great big teddy bear, you know.”
