Four row houses in Toronto's west end may face demolition

A roofer installing a torch-down roof in Toronto’s west end faces no charges after “accidentally” starting a four-alarm fire last week, the Toronto Star reports.

Four row houses on Argyle Street may now face demolition.

Safety rules for hot roof application vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. Generally, roofers are not allowed to work alone on hot roof projects. The circumstances that started this particular fire are not yet public.
