Press release received yesterday. It’s nice to see a 100% Canadian home improvement retailer – with stores owned and operated by independent operators – getting such good grades from their customers.

St. Jacobs, ON, June 15, 2016 – Home Hardware has been ranked as one of the most highly regarded companies in Canada according to an annual study by Reputation Institute. The 2016 Canada RepTrak® 50 grades companies based on over 40,000 ratings collected from Canadians.

“We are honoured and humbled to earn this distinction,” says Terry Davis, CEO, Home Hardware Stores Limited. “It’s a real tribute to the hard work and dedication of our network of Dealer-Owners who operate close to 1,100 stores across Canada. “We’re proud that our guiding ethic-believing that community and the common good is simply good business-continues to resonate with consumers.”

In addition to the overall ratings from Canadians, companies are also scored on key factors such as products and services, innovation and leadership and performance. The Top 50 list includes six Canadian-based companies and Home Hardware leads the pack.

“Reputation is an emotional bond, backed by rational impressions,” says Bradley Hecht, Vice-President and Chief Research Officer at Reputation Institute. “Companies with strong reputations receive significantly more support from their stakeholders, whether it’s in buying their products or giving them the benefit of the doubt in a crisis.”

The 2016 Canada RepTrack® 50 also studied the most respected industries in the country and found the consumer and transport sectors to have the strongest reputation.
