Another comment on StraightForward Pricing, this one not in favour of it from My Go-2-Guy (that’s his nickname, although maybe it’s his actual legal name – we live in strange times – but I digress)… 

Re: Straightforward Pricing… Not so sure I agree here. I’ve been working on a T&M basis for years, including charges for sourcing materials and I have had no complaints. Granted, I’ll provide an estimated cost for clients that request it, but even then, when I invoice it is an hourly fee that is typically close. I think it is just a matter of educating your client to the process. Lord knows, they want to be paid fairly for their work, right? Some clients are surprised that my charge is less than they expected as well. Just be honest in your invoicing practices.
