Kids don’t want to be in the trades… because we put them in daycare?

Andreas Herrmann says kids need to be raised outside, away from "industrial daycares," if we want to build a healthy respect for the trades in the next generation....

Online reader Andreas Herrmann gives us a new take on why kids don’t want to be in the trades (allegedly).  It’s because we put them in daycare!  Thanks for your contribution, Andreas!

“I do not intend to stand on somebody’s feet, but this issue can’t be solved with better education programs only (even it is urgent). This problem starts already in the childhood, perhaps kids should be raised from the parents and not in an “industrial daycare.” They need to have exercise, play in the bush etc., and learn to protect themselves like in the animal world too. Parenting is the key for our next generation!

I agree, the safety regulations is another hurdle, or better a hideous joke! We had recently some work to do on a residential project where a safety inspector showed up, unfortunately his concentration was on hardhats and CSA approved shoes and so on, but what’s with all the lumber laying around and in the building with nails and screws sticking out in all directions? How about the unprotected rebars which stands a half a meter out of the concrete retaining wall beside the main entrance? Would we really need all this safety equipment if a work area would be clean?”

    I absolutely agree

The kids with the most “hands on experience”
Will jump leaps above his/her peers

I ve taught my kids everything they could retain, so far and there only 8 & 10yrd old,

Most folks can’t believe how talented they are, I comment, knowledge is gained threw experience, the most experience they have, the more knowledge they ll have

Especially considering they will be going into a tech world

Where it will be expected that a computer will fix everthing
Won’t they be in for a shock!!!!

Tend to agree to a point here as well. I have taught all my kids how to use their hands and get things done. Now that they are into their 20’s I am starting to see the results of that. My oldest has always fixed his own car, just bought a house and is now renovating it. Realizing how much money he saves by doing it all himself. My youngest is in school for architecture and is understanding all the terms we use around the house now. Cool to watch them grow up.

If the youngest generation don’t wake up in time, they will became like robotics, ready to be commanded, yes sir, yes miss, way more then what already here.

Our Ontario government is allowing that to be in place, indoctrination instead education, apparently in the subjugation system.

Example, about the emissions test in Ontario, will go free on 2017 under Ontario’s budget, but instead 4.3 cents will be added per liter of gas, the wonder-full way governments trick the people, called offsetting cost. Once more misleading the Ontario people. How can we all take this bullshit? Scrap the E test once for all, its another tax fraud.

Well young people apparently need calculator for their math, maybe they will order the phones and computers to perform construction and other works. And may not realizing even using these devices what’s coming.

Example: an average small car consuming 120 liters of gasoline per month. 120L x 4.3 cents= 516/100= $5.16 per month, per year it will cost $ 61.92 per two years it will cost $123.84, versus $30 E test. Even if government will pay the $ 30 to the E test centers, will get $93.84 per two years. not bad at all, where is the offsetting?

This is the math they want us to know, an illusion of deceit, new math I believe under the Ministry of education, LOL. Our young generation are under a parasitic economic submission program. The new robotic slaves, welcome new evolution.

There is no future for the young people in this Province, the economic tax traps which are in place, will not let them succeed.

The new and renovation construction and other kind of skilled ventures in this Province are full of economic, tax, fees, and license traps, and the way young people are learning isn’t helping them either. All this infestation electronic devices came to turn them more like robotics then real humans. A lot of them spend their time more around these destructive items then learning hands on.
Who to blame? You all may know who!
