NEW update on the Morneau small business tax changes
Canadian ContractorZeifmans has plain language updates on the effect on YOUR contracting firm
Federal Finance Minister Bill Morneau has been at the centre of a political storm as his department attempts to introduce Small Business Tax Reform legislation.
When the storm dies down, the Federal Liberals will finalize their legislation and almost certainly make it into law (they have a majority government) sometime in the not-too-distant future.
We appreciate the assistance of Zeifmans – a leading Canadian tax and accounting firm – in explaining to our contractor readers how the tax changes might affect them.
The final legislation has not been drafted, but we know from previous versions of the plan some of the directions that the government intends to take.
Here is this week’s update from Zeifmans.

All I can say is WOW to the underground economy !
There is nothing left on the table for the corporation to expand and buy equipment. There is enough stress dealing with clients, trades, employees and then fight to get your end check. Why would anyone want to have this and no payout at the end of our rigorous hours & family issues working too much, etc. They just see a bunch of baby boomers with a lot of cash in there company’s they want to grab and spend. Then what ! There is none in the next generations to grab. LIBERALS get a handle on your SPENDING !!!!
