Saskatoon contractor who overcame mental health and addiction issues now “pays it forward”

Canadian Contractor

Chris Watt, owner and founder of Array Design and Contracting, Saskatoon, is helping others to get out of the "black hole" of substance abuse and mental illness

Pro renovator Chris Watt says that three things make him want to get up in the morning: design, building and helping others.

But for years, severe social anxiety and depression  – plus the “self-medicating” with substances that he turned to in attempt to cope – made Watt wonder if he even wanted to live at all.

Now a highly-successful design-build contractor in Saskatoon, Watt was the recent subject on an inspiring profile in the Saskatoon StarPhoenix. It’s worth a few minutes to read it. As you will find out, Watt has been able to hire others who are also “in recovery.” It’s all part of a contractor trying to help others as he himself was helped.
