Happy Long Weekend!

Renovation Contractor

Enjoy your long weekend no matter what you call it.

Depending on where you live, you may call it Terry Fox Day (Manitoba), Saskatchewan Day, British Columbia Day, Natal Day (Nova Scotia and PEI), Simcoe Day (Toronto), New Brunswick Day, Colonel By Day (Ottawa), Heritage Day (Alberta) or even Joseph Brant Day in (Burlington, Ontario) and Benjamin Vaughan Day (in, of all places, Vaughan, Ontario). All that really matters is that it’s a stat holiday.

Except if you live in Newfoundland and Labrabor (who had Regatta Day on August 2), Quebec, or the Yukon (where they have to wait until August 21 for Discovery Day).

Looking for something to do? On August 5, the Canadian Open opens. Now better known as the Rogers Cup, this annual tennis tournament rotates between venues in Toronto and Montreal. This year the women’s games will be played at the Aviva Centre on the grounds of York University in Toronto. On the same dates, the men play at Uniprix Stadium in Montreal. The singles and doubles finals are on August 13.
