Do we need central planning or should we let the free market sort things out?

You who read my blogs know that I like to see details through the lens of a bigger picture, and believe that you do too sometimes. A good example is the link I once posted to a feature written in the National Post about the history and nature of Liberalism and Conservatism. In this video, you won’t find any direct reference to renovations, but I believe the issue this George Mason University supported video highlights is central to our discussion on WSIB and other regulatory pressures legitimate contractors face. It even reaches into the Mike Holmes controversy. It points to the fundamental way our government and society handles crisis. Do we need central planning or should we allow the free market sort things out?

We are renovators, but we are also people living in a society in which we have an influence and, most importantly, a vote. This video gives you some context for both your work and your life. Let me know what you think.
