This is a nail I drove into the top of a 2 x 6 a few days ago during a DIY project. I wanted to bend it over to hang the joist on a flush beam before I nailed the joist home. It snapped while I was bending it. It was actually the sixth or seventh nail broken that day.
What’s up with the quality of nails these days? I framed for about six years and I can’t remember ever breaking a nail bending it. Not once. Any framers out there that find the same thing? I am just not that strong!
