Rising Stars program to present at 2024 CAEL

The Rising Stars Program, designed to empower the next generation of underrepresented youth by providing opportunities for sustainable careers in construction, has released the 2024 Council for Adult and Experiential Learning (CAEL) Conference.
Held from Oct. 30 to Nov. 1, 2024, at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside in New Orleans, La., the conference brings together leaders, educators and workforce development professionals to explore how education-to-career pathways fuel economic mobility and community prosperity. David Hutchinson, founding director of the Rising Stars Program, will be a featured panellist for, “Expanding Access to Union Apprenticeships for Diverse Adult Education and Community College Students.”
Joining him in this discussion will be fellow panellists:

- Shakir Cannon-Moye, Vice President at Julius Education
- Tom Pfundstein, Director of Curriculum & Instruction at International Finishing Trades Institute

The panel will explore challenges and innovative approaches to expanding apprenticeship opportunities and engaging diverse learners in meaningful career paths within unionized trades.
