Happy Birthday, Stanley!

Way back in 1843, Frederick Trent Stanley started the iconic tool company that still bears his name. The company originally manufactured bolts, hinges, and other hardware. In the 1930s, the company took over a British tool manufacturer and, today, one of its most popular inventions – the utility knife – is typically referred to as a “Stanley knife” in the U.K.

In celebration of the 175th anniversary, the company has released some commemorative products including a modernized 1930s-style 10’ tape measure, a 122-piece socket set, and 11-piece wrench sets available in metric or imperial measures. The commemorative tools are available exclusively at Canadian Tire.
