From everyone at Canadian Contractor, Happy Holidays. Our Tuesday, Dec. 18th e-newsletter is the final one of the year. 380 posts later, we hope we’ve given you some business tips that have helped your improve their bottom lines.
Contractors, we wish you “down time” with your family and friends. Renovation contracting can be an exhausting business. By taking a bit more time off than just the statutory holidays, if you possibly can, you will be sharper, faster, better when you get back on those jobsites in 2013. And, in the next week before the break, your customers may be a bit stressed out (as if they ever aren’t…). Treat them gently. And ask for respect for your own family time, in return.
To our advertisers and sponsors, thank you all for making it a great year for Canadian Contractor – both our print edition and our online version here. You’ve helped our 30,000-plus recipients of our print edition to be knowledgeable about your products and services. Online, you’ve helped us deliver a collective message to our 19,000 e-newsletter recipients: that with the best tools, with top-quality materials, and with the right business tools, renovation contracting business can be a profitable and rewarding way to make a living.
To our writers and photographers, to all the staff here at Business Information Group who lay out our pages, manage our circulation lists, manage our dollars and cents, and get us on schedule when we drive you crazy with last-minute editorial changes: thanks, team.
And to outgoing publisher Steve Dempsey, who starts a new gig in the trade show business in the New Year, best wishes!
