Asbestos-related deaths have soared in recent years in Canada. Now, a BC union is calling for a national database of asbestos locations - at least with respect to public buildings and navy ships.

A prominent construction union in BC has called for governments of various levels across the country to set up a national asbestos registry of the known-locations of all asbestos-containing public buildings – as well as naval vessels.
