The (MTO) officers are abusive and rude
Canadian ContractorAll across Canada, tickets for commercial vehicle safety violations seem to be at an all-time high...
It has been 18 months since Alec Caldwell wrote his post about an Ontario Ministry of Transport blitz on contractors’ vehicles. Alec called the MTO officers “vultures.” (Don’t hold back, Alec!) A new MTO blitz seems to be in effect, says T. Roberts.
“In London, ON, they are pulling trailers over and trying to find anything they can because of the death of a woman by a tractor trailer tire. They are hitting small trailers owned by small businesses. The officers are abusive and rude. In my opinion, the OPP and the court house are working together to make money. They make sure that, when they fine you, the officer will show up at the trial. You don’t stand a chance to win. The trials are unfair and one-sided – as I discovered: the officer in my case avoided the truth by playing dumdum. The court rooms are so packed, they are starting some trials at 5:00 pm. The doors automatically lock in the court house at that time and you are trapped inside.”

Never go to court without legal representation especially if you have charges pending against your CVOR. We win 95%of the time, 4% we get a lesser charge top plea to. The other 1% well you can’t win them all.
Truckers are so sick and fed up with these overcon fident tickets pushers
I myself am a lic mechanic
A While back during a safety blitz an opp officer wanted to remove my plates, because of a stone chip (not within the drivers view)
I asked him how he came up within this charge, he said his
” computer told him so”
I screamed and yelled,
Told him my 20+ yr old mechanics license had a lot more experience than his computer did
And he let me go
The entire system needs to be exposed to the media
When theofficer, shellacks you with tickets,
Only to tell you to retain a traffic ticket attorney,
Whos job is to protect your cvor and reduce the bogus charges
Which is reviewed by your insurance company that determines your premium,
All occurrences should be video recorded and shown in court, then the officers can be charged, with charged towards them
I fail to see your complaint Alec?!? As a commercial driver you are responsible for the safety of your commercial vehicle and trailer; hence , why the officers are out there…to protect the people that travel on highways. Too often there have been accidents (some resulting in death) of innocent traveller and all because the commercial driver (small or large)have become complacent. The funny thing is, you complain, but would you complain when a loved one is injured or killed because of a complacent driver???
