Window manufacturers compete to win ENERGY STAR's affections
Canadian Contractor Fire ProductOntario window manufacturer Vinyl Window Designs was quick to notice when it's competitor won a recent ENERGY STAR award. The firm's Phil Lewin wrote to us to tout VWD's own successes with the Ottawa-based energy efficiency rating agency.
Last week, we ran a story that Edmonton-headquartered All Weather Windows, a windows manufacturer that has expanded across the country in recent years, was promoting its ENERGY STAR “most efficient” status.
Like any good marketing man, Phil Lewin of Vinyl Window Designs, a window manufacturer in Woodbridge, Ont. that competes with All Weather Windows, was quick to fire us an email reminding us of VWD’s own ENERGY STAR successes.
Here’s what he wrote:
“I noted your mention regarding one of our competitors winning the ENERGY STAR Manufacturer of the Year 2012 award and having windows qualifying for the “Most Efficient” rating. They should be proud.
Vinyl Window Designs Ltd. is also proud to have been the winner of the ENERGY STAR Manufacturer of the Year 2006 and ENERGY STAR Advocate of the Year 2012. We also have numerous windows that qualify for the “Most Efficient” designation. I would add to that the fact that more ENERGY STAR registered dealers carry our products than any other individual window manufacturer’s product. I think this is also worth a mention.”
Consider it mentioned, Mr. Lewin. And good marketing from you, sir.
