Resources in southwestern Ontario for people needing assistance with accessibility
Ask and ye shall receive. Tracy C. has chimed in with some helpful information in response to a question about how to access financial assistance for home accessibility renovations in the Windsor, Ont., area.
Hi; The March of Dimes program is a good one. Ontario Renovates is a provincial program that helps low to moderate income seniors with these type of renos. Windsor’s municipal website indicates that program isn’t currently running, but I think this may be out of date. I’d call the municipality to see if they have any updated info on that or other local programs that might help. The contact info I found on the Windsor website is: Program Development Officer, Housing Services, Windsor/Essex at 519-255-5200 ext. 5349.
Veteran’s Affairs also has funding if you are eligible.
Are you aware of a good assistance program in your area? This is information we should be pushing out to our markets all the time – great help for them…a business driver for you.
